The Great Himalayan Safari takes you to quite unknown & quite remote Himalayan wildlife. After enjoying rich cultural heritage of Delhi, we indulge into ascents to explore Nanda Devi National Park, UNESCO natural World Heritage nestled in heights of Himalaya can be explored only through trekking taking view of panoramic peaks of Himalaya. Then, you come to Binsar sanctuary famous for its birding trek. Enjoy natural beauty with bird watching. Then, we come to Dudhwa for tiger tracking in one of the remote park of India with numerous varieties of mammals, birds, reptiles, & one-horned Indian rhino from Assam here in natural habitat is feast to eyes.

Day 01 :Arrive in Delhi |

After arriving in Delhi, you will be greeted & received by our tour guide, who will assists and escort you to a waiting coach/cab and get you checked in to your decided hotel.
After lunch, we will embark on visit to Delhi’s monuments starting with Qutub Minar followed by Lotus temple & Akshardham.
Overnight stay will be in hotel at Delhi.

02 : Delhi sightseeing |

After breakfast, we will visit the magnificent Humayun's Tomb, then visit India Gate, The President House, & Parliament house. After lunch, we will visit Rajghat to see the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, drive straight to Old Delhi, to experience a rickshaw ride thru the old bazaars of Dariba Kalan & Chandani Chowk. Evening is at Red Fort where beside the interiors of the fort, a 'light and sound show', is very entertaining.
Overnight stay will be in hotel at Delhi.

03 : Delhi – Haridwar (250 km, 6 hrs) (by Train) |

Early morning, transfer to New Delhi railway station to board Dehradun Shatabdi to Haridwar. It departs at 0650 hrs (subject to confirmation) in AC Chair cars. Arrive at Haridwar at 1120 hrs. From Haridwar, we set out for Rudraprayag by SUV.
Haridwar (300 m) - Rudraprayag (1200 m) (160 km, 7 hrs)
Drive thru mountain roads. Enjoy picturesque landscape of Garhwal region. Halt at Kaudiyala for refreshments. Stop at Devprayag to see the confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi. Overnight stay will be at Hotel in Rudraprayag.

04 : Rudraprayag (1200m) - Joshimath (1890m) - Suraithota (2303 m) (150 km, 5-6 hrs) |

We will leave early around 0630 hrs after a light breakfast to Joshimath. Brunch will be at Joshimath before driving app. 30 km to Suraithota (1 hr).
Suraithota (2303 m) - Tolma village (2575 m) (3 km trek)
Trek up from road head to the Tolma village. App. 2-3 hrs to reach Suraithota around 1300 hrs to walk up to Tolma a hamlet of 15 homes where people offer basic but very comfortable home stays. Day will be at leisure to relax, walk around, & taste local food. For the next five days this will be the last human habitation on the trekking route. Overnight stay will be in village.

05 :Tolma village (2575 m) |

Today, an easy 5 km walk across the Lama River to acclimatize and check the surroundings. Visit the excellent high altitude herbs and medicinal plants garden maintained by the villagers and meet its knowledgeable keeper. We will walk to the river and beyond with the guide to see natural beauty. Look for wild Blue Sheep or Bharal, as they are locally called, on the slope opposite the village. 06 :Tolma - Karichaun (3030 m) (5 km trek, 4 hrs) |

Start around 0800 hrs on a relatively gentle climb through Deodar, pine, Cyprus and birch forests to a water source called Karichaun for the first day to prepare for the long haul the next day. Relax, acclimatize, & bird watching. Overnight stay will be in camp |

07 : Karichaun (3030m) – Himtuli (3636) - Jhandidhar (4200) (12 km trek, 8 hrs) |

We start at 0700 after a light breakfast for a climb to Himtuli through shaded birch and Yew forests trying to spot the Monal pheasant, musk deer and others. After lunch and rest at Himtuli we go up a steep climb to Jhandidhar, the entrance of the Nanda Devi National Park. Overnight at Jhandidhar in tents |

08 : Jhandi Dhar (4200m) - Bagfyana - Satkula - Dharansi Pass (4250 m) (8 km trek, 5 hrs) |

After breakfast trek begins with a steep climb up to Bagfyana pass. From Bagfyana the trail passes through a very narrow gorge of Satkula with steep ascents and descents to reach the meadows of the Dharansi pass, which is an excellent spot to watch mammals like Blue Sheep, Musk deer and Tahr. Dharansi pass also gives stunning views of Nanda Devi and other peaks. Overnight stay will be in tents. |

09 : Dharansi Pass (4250 m) - Debrugheta (3500 m) –back to Dharansi Pass (14 km, 7-8 hrs) |

Today either you can relax or spend time in Dharansi to look for wildlife. It is best to wake up early and walk around with the guide. For those who are interested to trek, there is a 14 km trek to Debrugheta and back. The Malthuni - Bethartoli ridge, between Dharansi Pass and Debrugheta, drops down to the Rishiganga River in a steep gorge. Till Donidhar, it is a gradual descent and then from Donidhar to Debrugheta is a steep fall of 750 m till one crosses a makeshift bridge over the stream. By afternoon return trek to Dharansi Pass. Overnight stay will be in tents at Dharansi.

Day 10 : Dharansi Pass (4250 m) – Satkula - Bagfyana - Jhandi Dhar -Lata Kharak (3689m) 12 km trek (5 hours) |

We will return through familiar territory and then we branch off from Jhandidhar towards Lata Kharak continuously descending with a few minor ascents. The forest hut at Lata Kharak is on a high plateau surrounded by rocky peaks. Lata Kharak has lovely views of Bithartoli-Himal (6354 m), Nanda Ghunti (6309 m), Ranthi (6003 m) and Draunagiri (7066 m) as well as broad views of Kunwari pass, Auli, and Lata Village. Overnight stay will be in tents or the huts.

Day 11 : Lata Kharak - Lata village (2317m) (8.5 km trek, 4 hrs) |

After a leisurely morning descend to the Lata village with its unique culture. Visit the famous Nanda Devi temple. Overnight stay will be in tents close to the village.

Day 12 : Lata village (2317) - Lata road head (2000m) - Joshimath (1890m) –Lata village (1.5 km trek, 1 hr) - road head - 40 min to Joshimath - 7 hrs to Binsar |

After a quick walk to the road head and good byes to the team drive in waiting vehicles to the Joshimath and after refreshments proceed to Binsar via Karnaprayag & Bageshwar. Arrive at Binsar in evening & check into resort. Overnight stay will be in resort at Binsar.

Day 13 : Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary |

Today in morning, we will start our safari in Binsar sanctuary. Binsar is located in the midst of dense forests 30 km from Almora. It derives its name from Binsar Mahadeo or Shiva. Binsar is an epitome of solitude, quietness and natural beauty for traveler. Perched on top of Jhandi Dhar hills, it is a notified forest reserve and bird sanctuary. Overnight stay will be in a resort at Binsar.
Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary covering only an area of 47.04 sq. km but is home to many high-altitude animal and bird species. The mammals in this area are leopard, Himalayan palm civet, serow, ghoral, yellow-throated Himalayan marten, yellow-bellied weasel, fox, Himalayan black bear and many more. During safari, you can see wonderful views of the snowcapped Himalayan ranges, like the peaks of Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Trishul, Panchchuli and Nanda Kot.

Day 14 : Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary |

IToday, go for a full day birding trek in Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. A 3 hour trek from Jhadidhar-Snow View point, we climb from 5600 feet to Snow view point. It is an ideal birding route, where you ascend through the pine level forests to dense oak and rhododendron forests of the Binsar Sanctuary. Return by car to resort in evening. Overnight stay will be in a resort at Binsar.

Day 15 : Binsar – Dudhwa National Park (380 km, 9 hrs) |

Today, we will leave for Dudhwa NP in early morning via Pilibhit. Enroute, you can enjoy rural life and changes in living as we move from mountains to plains of Uttar Pradesh. We will halt at 2 or 3 places to refresh. In evening, we will arrive at Dudhwa National Park. Check into Tiger Haven. Rest of the day will be at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Tiger Haven.

Day 16 : Dudhwa National Park |

After breakfast, go for Jeep Safari towards Sonaripur for wildlife viewing passing through the tropical semi-evergreen forest, tropical moist deciduous forest, riparian and swamp forest and dry deciduous forest, you will come across at least 37 species of mammals, 16 species of reptiles and 400 species of avifauna. Dudhwa Wildlife Sanctuary is said to have 101 tigers and four leopards. After safari; return to Tiger Haven for overnight stay.
In Dudhwa National Park, fauna consist of sambar, swamp deer, cheetah, hog deer, barking deer, crocodile, python, peafowl, partridges, etc. It is home for endangered swamp deer. Dudhwa’s birds, in particular, are a delight for any avid bird watcher- plenty of painted storks, sarus cranes, owls, barbets, woodpeckers, minivets and many more, including some rare species like the Bengal florican. Much of the park’s avian fauna is aquatic in nature, and is found around Dudhwa’s lakes- especially Banke Tal.

In morning, we set out for elephant ride in the jungle for tiger tracking and animal viewing. The jungle visits lasts for about two hours. Return to the resort for breakfast & lunch. You can take jungle walk around the surroundings or bird-watch.
In afternoon, we drive to the jungle for watching rhinos from a watch tower. These rhinos are brought here from Assam to increase the numbers of rhinos & to preserve species from any epidemic danger or extinction. Overnight stay will be at the Tiger Haven.

Day 18 : Dudhwa NP – Shahjehanpur(100 km, 3 hrs) – Delhi (380 km, 8 hrs) (via Train) |

Wake up early morning & transfer to Shahjehanpur railway station to catch train to Delhi. We board Avadh-Assam Exp at 0800 hrs & it reaches Delhi at 1600 hrs. Transfer to IGI airport to board flight to onward destination.
